Lady Gaga Chalks Up Bradley Cooper Dating Rumors to Their Acting Skills — ‘Guess We Did a Good Job!’

We just had to take one last look! Lady Gaga opens up about her life in the public eye and all those Bradley Cooper dating rumors that caused a stir last year when their hit movie A Star Is Born had everyone in awe — and in tears. According to the music legend, 33, she chalked up their undeniable chemistry to good acting.

“Quite frankly, I think the press is very silly. I mean, we made a love story. For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love,” she told Elle magazine of their memorable performance at the 2019 Oscars.

Even though the performance wasn’t on the big screen, Gaga explained they were still very much acting. “We wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars. We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on. And we worked hard on it, we worked for days. We mapped the whole thing out — it was orchestrated as a performance.”

Their mission was definitely accomplished. After their performance, the rumor mill revved up their engines. Although everyone was talking about a love that wasn’t there, she said the two made light of the situation. “In truth, when we talked about it, we went, ‘Well, I guess we did a good job!’” Gaga shared.

Although Gaga and Bradley, 44, are not our real-life Allie and Jackson, *sheds tear* the actors are very close pals. “He’s a beautiful father,” the blonde beauty gushed of her costar.

Bradley admitted he “fell in love with [Lady Gaga’s] face and eyes,” at the Venice Film Festival in August 2018. He added, “I remember when we first met, after 10 minutes we were eating homemade food that she cooked — I love to eat — and that was actually a huge bond that we both came from East Coast Italian-American families. So, we had a real synchronicity on that level from our upbringing.”

The studly actor also got the seal of approval from Gaga’s dad, Joe Germanotta. “Joe’s said nothing but positive things about Bradley,” a source exclusively told In Touch magazine. “Joe talks about Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born and knows how excited she is about that and acting with Bradley. You can tell Joe likes Bradley.”

Since filming, Gaga split from her fiancé, Christian Carino and Bradly broke things off with longtime girlfriend Irina Shayk. Since Christian, Gaga briefly dated Dan Horton, while Bradly sparked romance rumors with Laura Dern. Of course, being newly single didn’t help the spread of their love affair.
