After Kim Kardashian West received major backlash for the name of her new shapewear line, Kimono, she tells WSJ. Magazine that the name was an “innocent” mistake.

“You would think we would have obviously thought it through a little bit deeper,” Kim, 38, told the magazine in their first-ever all-digital issue.

The Keeping up with the Kardashians star faced intense scrutiny after releasing the name of her new collection. The star was accused of cultural appropriation by associating her shapewear line with traditional Japanese garb and even tried to trademark the name of the historic artifact.

After a tirade of angry social media users gave Kim a lesson in cultural sensitivity, the KKW Beauty mogul announced plans to change the name last week.

“When I announced the name of my shapewear line, I did so with the best intentions in mind,” wrote Kim in a series of tweets.

“My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name. I will be in touch soon. Thank you for your understanding and support always.”

The brand of shapewear aims to give the public Kim’s greatest undergarment secrets. “Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work,” wrote the star. “I would always cut up my shapewear to make my own styles, and there have also been so many times I couldn’t find a shapewear color that blended with my skin tone, so we needed a solution for all of this,” Kim said.

Products include thongs, bras, waist trainers, bodysuits, thermal leggings are more. All retailing between $20 to $98. The products come in a wide variety of skin tones, 9 to be exact, and ranges from sizes XXS to 4XL. That a girl!

“My solutionwear brand is built with inclusivity and diversity at its core and I’m incredibly proud of what’s to come,” Kim told the New York Times.

Honestly, we can’t wait to try all of the reality stars shaping products, but the name could use a little work.
