Kanye West revealed that the “invisible dress” that his wife, Bianca Censori, wore to the Grammys was tailored six times before the iconic red carpet moment.
“My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world,” Ye, 47, wrote via X on Thursday, February 6, alongside a photo of him and Bianca, 30, posing on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 2. “I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night Thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot … She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life.”
Ahead of the awards show, Bianca shocked fans when she stripped a long black coat off to reveal she was wearing a dress that made her appear naked.
“We tailored that invisible dress 6 times [and] just like magic, poof, we disappeared,” he continued of the work that went into creating the ensemble.
The “Gold Digger” rapper wrapped up the post by thanking the media for writing about the dress. “Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in,” Ye wrote. “But I have to give a shout-out to the American Vogue team for writing an article that places my wife in a strong positive light and also recognizes rightful strength.”
“People asked how would your mother feel,” Ye concluded. “You don’t know my mama bitch.”
While Ye has been outspoken about how proud he is of Bianca and the dress, her mother, Alexandra Censori, had less positive things to say about the daring moment.
“We are just normal people, living our own lives as privately as we can,” Alexandra told a reporter in Australia when asked about Bianca’s viral invisible dress, according to a report from OK! published on Wednesday, February 5. “I have nothing to say about Bianca, thank you.”
Shortly after Bianca made her red carpet debut, several fans took to social media to express their shock over the outfit. “Trying to remember the last time i seen bianca censori fully clothed,” one social media user sarcastically wrote via X, and another chimed in, “I worry for Bianca censori.”
Despite the backlash from some critics, Ye continued to insist that he was proud of the outfit. On Tuesday, February 4, the “Homecoming” rapper took to his Instagram Stories to post about “the invisible dress.” In addition to showing off the garment, Ye also uploaded a photo of his wife wearing the outfit on the Grammys red carpet.

Not only did Ye and Bianca make headlines for her outfit, but rumors also swirled that they were kicked out of the event after Entertainment Tonight reported that pair “showed up” to the Crypto.com Arena “uninvited with an entourage of about five people and were escorted out.” However, the confusion only escalated when the post was quickly deleted.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. later confirmed that Ye and Bianca were not kicked out of the Grammys. He told ET on Monday, February 3, that they were invited to the event because the father of four was a nominee, though Harvey, 56, said Ye only wanted to walk the red carpet and had no interest in attending the awards show.
