Jessica Simpson’s “Self-Doubt and Drug and Alcohol Issues” Are Impacting Her Work and Family Life (EXCLUSIVE)

Fans are very concerned about Jessica Simpson after seeing her recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show — and In Touch can exclusively reveal that there is, in fact, a reason to worry.

While the mother-of-two, who is married to Eric Johnson, has been having a tough few months between work and her father, Joe Simpson, battling cancer — a source reveals that Jessica sought out unhealthy coping mechanisms.

"Jessica is reviving her music career, her fashion empire continues to thrive, she has a husband who loves her and two of the cutest children in Hollywood, but she's blowing it all due to her self-doubt and drug and alcohol issues," says the insider, adding she has even turned to binge eating.

The singer turned fashion designer is currently taking medicine to treat her anxiety, which the source reveals contributes to her outlandish behavior.

"The combination of the meds and drinking scotch and vodka has [sometimes] made her disoriented. It's very sad to see her in such a state," they explain.

This is hardly the first time we've seen fans and loved ones concerned for Jessica's health. In Touch reported back in September 2015 that Eric was ready to leave with their two kids — Maxwell and Ace — if she did not go to rehab.

A source told the mag around that time that she was also taking Adderall in addition to her anxiety medication. Her family attempted to stage an intervention, which did not sit well with the former reality star.

“It’s gotten out of control. The family dinner started off as a nice conversation about how she should maybe cut back on her workouts and dieting, but it turned into a heated fight," the insider recalled. “[Her sister] Ashlee [Simpson] really called her out and told her she needed to get help, but Jessica freaked and ran out in tears. Now everyone’s on pins and needles about what to do.”
