Howie Mandel Reportedly ‘Won’t Be Asked Back’ on ‘Live With Kelly and Mark’ After Awkward On-Air Moment

Things recently got a little tense between Howie Mandel and Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Mark — and some find it hard to forget.

During the Monday, March 23, broadcast of the daytime talk show, Ripa, 55, and husband Mark Consuelos, 54, tried to compliment Mandel for how great he looks at age 70.

However, the America’s Got Talent judge pushed back, saying, “I look great? That doesn’t mean anything to me. No, no, no, no. I don’t like that because that’s a caveat.”

Following the awkward on-air ordeal, a source told journalist Rob Shuter for a Friday, March 27, post on his Naughty But Nice Substack that Mandel “disrespected” Ripa “in her house.”

“That’s her show, her audience, her tone — and he bulldozed right through it,” the source added.

According to another insider, “Kelly runs a tight, polished ship. She expects guests to play along, keep it light, and protect the vibe. That interview did the opposite.”

During Mandel’s appearance on Live, Consuelos pointed out how the TV personality “just celebrated 70 years,” to which Ripa said “it doesn’t make any sense” to her.

“What do you mean it doesn’t make any sense?” Mandel asked firmly.

The Naughty But Nice report claimed that incidents with Mandel like that are unlikely to happen in the future.

While a source told Shuter that Ripa will “never say ‘you’re banned’” from coming back on the show, they pointed out that “suddenly bookings get tricky, schedules don’t align, and invites… vanish.”

Another insider claimed, “Howie won’t be asked back. Not after making her uncomfortable on her own set.”

“In daytime TV, chemistry is everything,” a source said. “Once that trust is broken, it’s almost impossible to rebuild.”
