A perfect match? Katie Holmes and new man Emilio Vitolo “met through mutual friends and connected instantly,” a source tells In Touch exclusively.
“An added bonus is that Emilio is well-connected and mingles with the stars, so [he] understands Katie’s career and gets the pressure of fame,” the source adds of the restauranteur, 33. “He spends a majority of his time in New York, where both he and Katie are based, which makes it easy for them to see each other.”
Though their relationship is “fairly new,” Emilio’s “warm nature puts her at ease,” and she “feels comfortable” opening up to him. “Emilio is charming and witty and constantly has Katie in hysterics. Since they started dating, she hasn’t stopped smiling. He lets Katie be herself.”
The Brahms: The Boy II actress, 41, confirmed their romance during a PDA-packed night in New York City on Sunday, September 6. Katie sat on Emilio’s lap, and they shared a passionate kiss while out to dinner.
A source previously told In Touch the duo has been “on a few dates” after Emilio and his former fiancée, Rachel Emmons, “broke off their engagement.”
Previously, the Dawson’s Creek alum was married to Tom Cruise, but their relationship ended in 2012 after six years of marriage. The following year, Katie was linked to “Blame It” singer Jamie Foxx. In Touch confirmed the longtime couple split in August 2019.
“She’s finally come to the conclusion that she wants to be with a guy who is ready to settle down,” a third source told In Touch exclusively at the time. “She also can’t keep an eye on him when he’s in L.A. and is fed up with doing the whole long-distance thing so gave him an ultimatum — either move to New York or it’s over.”
Now, Katie has “much more in common” with Emilio than she ever did with Jamie, a fourth source divulged. “Unlike Jamie, he isn’t into the whole nightclub scene and partying all night,” the insider said about beau. “He treats her like a princess.”
