Hayden Panettiere’s Daughter Lives in Ukraine With Her Dad, But They FaceTime ‘Often’

Her daughter may live in a totally different country, but that doesn’t mean Hayden Panettiere doesn’t take every opportunity to get some face time in with her little girl. And we mean that literally. In addition to taking trips to Ukraine to visit 4-year-old Kaya, who lives with dad Wladimir Klitschko, the mom and daughter duo keep in touch by using FaceTime. According to a source close to the former Heroes star, technology plays a big part in their family relationship.

Revealing that they FaceTime “often,” the insider told Us Weekly that they use the video calls to supplement their visits. But Hayden, 30, still tries to make her way over to Ukraine when she can. “Hayden frequently travels [there] to see her daughter,” the source said. She also sees her ex. Though the former boxer has physical custody of their daughter, the two are amicable coparents.

Wlad, 43, is also a “very hands-on dad” to the former couple’s daughter. According to the insider, Kaya adores him. “She loves to watch Wlad train in their home gym,” they said. And he’s making sure that she grows up with a normal life. Luckily, she’s got “a lot of friends” to play with, not to mention her stable home life.

The same can’t be said for Kaya’s mom. In May, Hayden’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was arrested on charges of domestic violence. The couple allegedly got into an argument after a night out at a bar, and when they got home, things turned physical. The altercation resulted in a Los Angeles judge issuing a restraining order on Hayden’s behalf. Rumors swirled around the couple for months with an insider spilling to Us Weekly in November 2018 that the relationship “is not a healthy situation.”

Though the charges and the restraining order were both dropped by September 2019, the relationship became even more complicated after the actress was seen out and about holding hands with her boyfriend’s brother, Zach Hickerson. In the photos exclusively obtained by In Touch, the duo can be seen smiling and strolling around New York City. Despite how the situation appeared, however, a source claimed there was nothing shady going on. “Hayden and Zach are just friends. They have been friends for as long as she’s been dating Brian; Zach and Brian are close,” a source told In Touch. “Zach was in NYC for a job interview and he linked up with Hayden who was already in town. They were just goofing off and holding hands as friends.”
