If you’re one of the predicted million traveling to East Rutherford, New Jersey, to catch FIFA World Cup 2026 in June and July, make sure to check out Charlie’s Corner. The family-owned bar — located at 1254 Paterson Plank Road in Secaucus — is a mere 7-minute drive and just 2 miles away from MetLife Stadium.
In business since 1966, Charlie’s Corner is revered amongst locals for its entertainment, food and ambiance. Inside, decades-worth of photos of old and new patrons adorn the walls, while a stage in the center of the room serves as a prime spot for live music.
The establishment’s lore precedes its reputation: According to Charlie’s Corner owner Tara Krajewski, Elvis Presley once stopped in while keeping a low profile.
Meanwhile, New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen planned to film the 1985 music video for “Glory Days” inside the local hotspot. However, the ceilings were too low, so The Boss and co. had to pivot to shooting elsewhere while still using one of the family’s other properties in Secaucus. (Springsteen, 76, loved the tinsel decorations in Charlie’s Corner so much that he had them replicated for the video!)
Other stars who have frequented the watering hole include Jerry Jones, Micky Dolenz, Butch Cassidy and more.
Hot tip: If you’re coming from New York City, Charlie’s Corner is also one of your last opportunities to grab a bite to eat, sing some karaoke and kick back before — or after — taking in the madness before hopping onto Route 3 en route to MetLife Stadium.
