Farmer Wants a Wife star Jay Woods wants answers — is Julia Mya truly ready to swap her city life for farm living?
Although there was a spark with the 22-year-old model from Malibu, the Alabama farmer, 25, wondered if Julia was ready for the commitment after struggling to adapt to farm life in an exclusive teaser for the Thursday, April 3, episode.
“You come in, you know, not really wanting to do any type of dirty work, but then I see you out there and you getting more comfortable and you opening up … So it’s like, ‘I see her, she’s growing but is it something that will last?”
Julia challenged the athlete for believing she “wouldn’t last in Alabama,” calling him out for assuming she wouldn’t adapt to the new environment.
“Well I am, honestly. I think you got a great personality and everything,” he began, before referencing an earlier group activity. “But it’s like when we were playing pool, we’re all playing and you just kind of off to the side, just sitting down, I’m like … that’s why I want to ask you now, do you really want to be here?”
Fans will have to tune in to Farmer Wants a Wife to see if Julia can fully embrace her potential new life as a farmer’s wife. During the season 3 premiere, viewers met four farmers — Jay, Matt Warren, John Sansone and Colton Hendricks — that were each introduced to eight potential love connections.

After narrowing their choices to five women, the bachelors invited their contestants to their respective farms across locations from California to Arkansas. One lucky special connection was selected to spend 24 exclusive hours with the farmer before the other women arrived.
Jay and Julia hit it off right away during their speed date, sparking a playful chemistry when she surprised him with a bold photo of herself in a bikini and cowboy hat.
“Even though I’m a city girl, I can be a farmer and look the part,” the California native told him during the episode, adding with a smile that while she’s up for the challenge, she doesn’t shovel poop and would require a Starbucks nearby.
Jay felt a connection with several contestants but ultimately chose Grace Clark, a 23-year-old nanny from Washington, for the special one-on-one time. During their date, the former football star took her to a game in his hometown, where they watched from the bleachers. Afterward, they shared a romantic moment sitting on the field, sipping beers as they shared their hopes for the future.
“My dream is I want to get married, and I want to stay home and raise my kids,” she replied. “I only grew up with one sibling, so I think it would be fun, like, to have a lot of kids, like four.”
Jay admired Grace’s desire to be a hands-on mother, recognizing that family had been a crucial support system throughout his own journey.
“Football is my life. I thought that I was gonna be playing on Friday nights in the NFL,” he opened up to her during their date. “But when it didn’t work that way, I went through a pretty dark spot in my life. But my family really helped me get through it.”
Farmer Wants a Wife airs Thursdays on Fox at 9 p.m. ET.
