‘Emergence’ Premieres Tonight: How to Watch the Compelling New Sci-Fi Drama
Ready to be on the edge of your seat? Mystery lovers are in for a treat because the highly anticipated new TV show Emergence will be premiering tonight, September 24, at 10 p.m. EST. Allison Tolman is portraying police chief Jo, and Alexa Swinton is starring as Piper in the compelling sci-fi drama about a mysterious accident involving a young girl.
Viewers can watch the riveting new series live on ABC, or tune into Hulu tomorrow as it will be available early the next morning. “After a police chief [Jo] who takes in a young child [Piper], she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened,” the synopsis reads on IMDB. “The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all.”
Fans can already watch the first nine minutes of the show online and it shows how enticing the series will be. At the beginning of the clip, the characters notice a glowing light on the horizon. When Jo heads over to the site, she sees what appears to be a plane crash and it’s revealed the police team has already begun scanning the area for clues. While doing a quick search of her own, Jo stumbles upon a young girl who is clearly trying to hide from all of the commotion.

After building a rapport with the girl, Jo takes her to the hospital and tries to figure out who she is, however Piper can’t remember anything, including who she is or where she is from. “I’m hoping the memory will come back in the next day or so,” her doctor says. At one point, Jo hears yelling between the NTSB and medical staff, as the NTSB team demands to speak to the young girl, noting how the hospital would be interfering with a federal investigation if they don’t comply with their request.
The drama intensifies when it’s discovered that Piper is gone. An Amber alert is issued, and Jo is informed that NTSB arrived to the crash site, but her coworker claims it’s a “different NTSB and no one knows who those [original] guys were.” Yikes!
Emergence premieres tonight, September 24, at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
