Footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs inviting child actress Daveigh Chase to a party has resurfaced and gone viral amid allegations that the rapper sexually abused minors.

The clip showed the disgraced music mogul, then 33, talking to the Ring star, who was 12 years old at the time, backstage at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards. He asked Daveigh, “You coming to the afterparty tonight?” while walking up to her and holding a drink near his mouth, as seen in the video shared by Hollywood Unlocked on Wednesday, October 23. The young actress then nodded, prompting Diddy to laugh and shout, “Yeah!”

The exchange appeared to happen shortly after Diddy, now 54, and Ashton Kutcher presented Daveigh, now 34, with the Best Villain award for her role as Samara Morgan in the 2002 horror film The Ring.

Ashton, then 25, was also backstage when the rapper extended the invite to Daveigh, but he only laughed at the comment. The That ‘70s Show actor, now 46, came under fire last month for a resurfaced clip in which he hinted that he knew about some of the nefarious things that happened at Diddy’s infamous Hollywood parties.

“Diddy was literally hiding his s–t in plain sight,” one Instagram user commented on the footage of the Bad Boy Records founder asking Daveigh to his party.

“The laugh made it 10,000X worse,” another person wrote, while a third user agreed, “It was the sinister laugh that did it for me‼️”

“Picture your own 13-year-old daughter being ‘joked’ with by an older man who is asking her about attending an afterparty. Tell me now if you still see the humor in it,” another critic commented.

A spokesperson for Diddy told Page Six of the clip, “It’s disappointing to see the media and social media commentators twist moments into something they were not.”

Diddy was arrested on September 16 on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. A grand jury alleged that the “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper had abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to “fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct,” according to the unsealed indictment obtained by In Touch at the time of his arrest.

Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied any wrongdoing. He is being held without bail at the federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, until his trial. A judge ruled on October 10 that his trial would begin on May 5, 2025.

Following his arrest, 120 alleged victims, all represented by a Houston-based law firm, came forward with claims of sexual abuse. Twenty-five of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged crimes. One claimed to be 9 years old when Diddy allegedly abused him.

Additionally, in a complaint filed this week, Diddy was accused of raping an unnamed 13-year-old girl at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty with help from two unnamed adult celebrities, one male and one female, according to the filing obtained by Deadline.

The rapper and his lawyers requested to “prohibit” further claims and statements from prospective witnesses to ensure a “fair trial,” according to court documents obtained by In Touch on Monday, October 21.

“Several of these lawyers have made shockingly prejudicial and false allegations of sexual assault and abuse of minors, the details of which need not be repeated,” the paperwork read. “Each day that passes brings a fresh wave of publicity, often at the direction of accusers and their counsel, further prejudicing Mr. Combs’ right to a fair trial. Therefore, we respectfully request that any response be filed on October 30, 2024.”
