Chris Brown and Rihanna Avoid Each Other at Drake’s Birthday Party by Celebrating on 2 Different Nights

Awkward! Chris Brown and Rihanna both celebrated Drake’s 33th birthday — just at separate parties, so the former flames didn’t have to run into one another. On Wednesday, October 23, the 30-year-old rapper was spotted at Goya Studios in Los Angeles with the Canada native. “Him and Drake are close and have obviously patched things,” a source told Us Weekly about their reunion. During the birthday bash, guests including Kylie Jenner, Adele, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Snoop Dogg enjoyed the night as they noshed on cheeseburgers and McDonald’s french fries.

Rihanna, for her part, made an appearance at Poppy nightclub in L.A. on Monday, October 21, where she was “hanging out with Drake” and “talking to him,” an insider told the outlet. “She arrived with friends to meet their group of friends who were celebrating his birthday week. They were all hanging out as friends.”

The brunette beauty, 31, and Chris called it quits in 2009 after the “With You” singer assaulted her. The duo was on their way to a pre-Grammys party at Clive Davis’ house when Rihanna saw Chris texting other women. The pair got into an altercation, and Chris was later found guilty of felony assault. He was also sentenced to five years of probation, six months community service and one year of domestic violence counseling. The Barbados native and Chris reunited in 2012 but ultimately went their separate ways.

Despite their rocky romance, it seems like Chris has nothing but love for Rihanna since he left a thirsty comment on her Instagram in September. After the makeup mogul posted a photo of herself in lingerie, Chris wrote, “I want to be the lamp,” referring to the light fixture placed near her chest. Fans didn’t appreciate his flirty gesture, though. “I guess you forgot about hitting her in the face,” one person wrote, while another said, “LOL. If you don’t know not to beat the s—t out of a female at 20, you definitely didn’t learn it by 30.”

Meanwhile, Rihanna also had an on-again, off-again relationship with Drake from 2009 to 2016. But it seems like Rihanna and Drake made up since she hinted that she wasn’t that close with him anymore in 2018. “We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either. It is what it is,” she told Vogue at the time.

Ultimately, Rihanna found love with Hassan Jameel — who is the vice-chairman of Abdul Latif Jameel, which owns Toyota distribution rights in Saudi Arabia, and his fortune is estimated to be approximately $1.5 billion. Even though the “Love on the Brain” songstress is usually private about the businessman, 30, she couldn’t help but gush about him earlier this month. “Yeah, I’m dating,” she told Vogue magazine in an interview published on October 9. “I’m actually in an exclusive relationship for quite some time, and it’s going well, so I’m happy.”
