If you've ever been on the Internet, you've probably seen the side-by-side photos of Chanel West Coast and actor Lee Norris [who played Minkus on Boy Meets World] — with captions suggesting they're the same person. Whether in the form of a meme or headlining a story focused on the transgender community, it's nearly impossible to ignore, and long sparked rumors that Chanel West Coast was a guy before her Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood and MTV days.

In an exclusive interview with In Touch, the "Nobody" songstress addressed the speculation. "I'm actually going through a legal situation right now to try and get all of this offline, because it's technically defamation of character, saying that I am transgender and used to be a boy," she explained. "Also, really, that hurts me too because I've had a lot of kids be like, 'I can relate to you,' thinking that I'm transgender — and I feel terrible. I want to be like, 'I'm not transgender,' but at the same time, I want to be there for people to feel like they can confide in me."

"It's sad that I have these kids that feel like they can relate to me and stuff. I'm a girl. I was born a girl. This is a huge rumor, just like the Kidz Bop thing, and I'm trying to get all of that off the Internet," Chanel continued. "I don't know — I have like, some weird Internet stalker that's trying to make me look crazy." However, the blonde beauty did admit she finds the comparisons "funny" and "made a joke out of it so many times."

"I also feel a little bit bad for Lee Norris because that guy's still acting in movies and stuff, and people think that he's living inside of me now," she shared. "They think that he's become me. He's his own person. I'm my own person. I'm not transgender. I'm a girl. It's like funny, but also a little bit frustrating."
