Britney Spears Admits She’s ‘Lonely’ Living in L.A.: ‘People Can Be Fake’

Honesty hour. Britney Spears got candid with her fans on Instagram about how being famous isn’t all it’s cracked up to be sometimes. “Pay close attention to the people who don’t clap when you win,” the 37-year-old posted a note on social media on Tuesday, August 20.

Additionally, the pop star continued to detail how she has been feeling lately. “Living in L.A. is such a trip!!!” she wrote as the caption. “You never know who to trust, and some people can be fake. I have a very small circle of friends and simply do what makes me happy!!! It breaks my heart to see the comments on my posts sometimes … So, I simply choose not to look anymore. Let the clever haters do what they do best … hate!!!”

Of course, Brit’s boyfriend, Sam Asghari, couldn’t help but support the blonde beauty in the comments section. “Winners don’t hate or bully. Losers (haters) only do because they don’t have what you have (which is the best heart in the world),” he gushed along with a heart emoji.

Many other fans also praised the “Toxic” crooner for being so open about the industry. One person wrote, “We love you, queen! The haters always drop hate, but you deserve only love in your life. We love you no matter what happens and the real fans, the REAL B-Army [will] always fight for you,” while a second person wrote, “You are truly a ray of sunshine in our world! I am so sorry you have to deal with those kinds of comments but just know you are so, so loved by many.” A third chimed in, writing, “Everyone has those that are jealous or insecure, but I don’t waste time on energy on their negativity and either should you. The Mississippi native has had a rough year, to say the least. In April, Britney checked into a wellness center. However, it seems like the mom of two was in a happier place after she sought help. “Britney is doing better, though,” a source exclusively told In Touch at the time.

It seems like her 25-year-old beau is also a shining light in Brit’s life. “Sam is also doing whatever he can to be there for Britney and is working around the clock to make sure she’s happy and relaxed,” the source added. “Britney opened up to him about her mental health problems early on in the relationship and over time, he’s learned to pick up on the warning signs. Their relationship is all about openness, respect and honesty.”
