Ben Affleck was spotted in Santa Monica spending time with daughter Violet, who wore a mask, along with his other child, Fin, on Saturday, August 22.

The Oscar winner brought Violet, 20, and Fin, 17, to Fia, the same restaurant where his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, recently enjoyed a date night with boyfriend John Miller, according to photos obtained by the Daily Mail.

His youngest child, 14-year-old Samuel, was not seen during the outing.

The dinner followed a recent family gathering for Ben’s birthday. He and Garner, both 54, reunited with their children weeks after his mother, Chris Affleck, died from pancreatic cancer on June 2 at age 83, The Daily Mail reported on August 15.

Ben and the 13 Going on 30 star married in 2005, separated in 2015, and finalized their divorce in 2018.

The former couple, who have maintained a healthy co-parenting relationship, have continued to share holidays and other family occasions since their split. Just days ago, while promoting her Peacock series Five Star Weekend, Garner opened up about their family dynamic. “Their dad, ex-husband Ben Affleck, has become this incredible co-parent,” she shared with Entertainment Weekly in July.

Although Affleck and his children largely stay off social media, paparazzi photos occasionally offer glimpses into their family life.

Violet has regularly worn a mask during public outings since experiencing a post-viral condition in 2019.

As In Touch previously reported, she discussed her health and argued against mask bans during a 2024 meeting of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

“I contracted a post-trial condition in 2019. I’m okay now but I saw firsthand that medicine does not always have answers to the consequences of even minor viruses,” she said. “The Covid-19 pandemic has thrown that into sharper relief.”

“Most importantly, the county must oppose mask bans for any reason,” Violet added.

“They do not keep us safer, they make vulnerable members of our community less safe and make everyone less able to participate in Los Angeles together.”
