They’re calling it quits — for the second time. Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus reportedly gave their relationship another solid try, but ultimately decided to go their separate ways, a source confirms to In Touch. The exes rekindled their romance less than three months ago.

“After having a lengthy discussion about where their relationship was going they both agreed that it was unrealistic to take things to the next level because of family commitments and living arrangements,” the insider tells In Touch about why they decided to break up again.

“Lindsay doesn’t want to disrupt daughter, Madeline’s life by moving her from New York to L.A. and Ben can’t move his kids to New York so they decided to call it quits. It was all very emotional!”

Ben, 46, and the Saturday Night Live producer, 38, first called it quits in August 2018 after dating for one year. The duo was spotted dining together in January 2019, fueling rumors they had reconciled and in February, it was confirmed. However, now it looks like this split might stick.

“It’s a really tough situation because they love each other and no one cheated but their children will always come first,” the insider revealed to In Touch. “Ben has done a lot of growing up since leaving rehab and says he owes it to his kids to bring some stability into their lives after the divorce and everything else. It’s a classic case of right relationship wrong time!”

Ben previously completed a 40-day stay in a treatment center in October. “The support I have received from my family, colleagues and fans means more to me than I can say,” he wrote in a statement at the time. “It’s given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others. Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.”

The Triple Frontier actor and his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, 46, finalized their divorce in November 2018, but on the bright side, the former flames are keeping things cordial as they work together to coparent their three kids — Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 6. Family first!
