It seems like just yesterday when Pax Jolie-Pitt was a little kid. As photos of the teenager growing up over the years prove, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s son has truly transformed since he was introduced to the world as their newest child in 2007.

At first, Angelina applied to adopt him as a single parent, as his birth country, Vietnam, has regulations that don’t allow unmarried couples to coadopt. However, the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider actress visited the orphanage where he spent the first few years of his life with Brad, and it’s clear Pax was theirs from the start.

Pax is now a teenager and appears to be thriving. When he first came into the Jolie-Pitt family, he was just 3 years old and joined his brother Maddox Jolie-Pitt and sister Zahara Jolie-Pitt, who were both previously adopted. He also gained a younger sibling in Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, who was born in Namibia in 2006.

Since then, Pax has become a big brother to two more siblings — Angelina and Brad’s twins, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt and Knox Jolie-Pitt, who arrived in 2008. For much of his life, Pax’s parents were not married, as they wed in August 2014 and divorced two years later in September 2016.

It’s been five years since Angelina filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason. Though the A-listers were declared legally single in April 2019, their divorce still has yet to be finalized as they haven’t come to an agreement on custody of their children.

Despite the ongoing drama, Angelina is solely focused on being there for Pax and her other little ones. “She’s always present with the kids and makes them all her priority,” an insider exclusively told In Touch in May 2021. “Angelina knows she’s painted as the bad guy in her divorce, but few people know that she’s struggled with the decisions she’s had to make.”

When it comes to her tumultuous split with the Fight Club alum, Angelina “wants it to be over just as much,” the source added. “The kids are the ones who cheer her up. She’s astonished by what they know about the world. She’s happiest when they’re all together.”
