Alaskan Bush People’s Bear Brown Says He Feels ‘Blessed’ to Have Mom Ami After Cancer Remission in Birthday Message

Counting his blessings. Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown celebrated mother Ami Brown’s birthday and shared how grateful he is for her on Friday, August 28. The Discovery Channel alum posted a message reflecting on the many obstacles they have overcome, only to come out even stronger on the other side.  

From her cancer battle to the recent Palmer Fire on their land, Bear, 33, said they have been through some “pretty hard” times together, but also have some “monumental moments” to look back on. The TV personality praised Ami, 57, for being one of the “strongest and most courageous women” he knows in his Instagram post. 

Bear said Ami finally has the “grandchildren she always wanted,” and it couldn’t make him happier to see her watch the “Wolfpack grow even larger.” 

“Through all the adversity we’ve faced, we still stand together as a family,” he concluded. “Happy Birthday mom!!!!!!!!”

Bear continues to remain positive, even though it has been a stressful few days for the Brown brood. On August 19, the father of one revealed his loved ones “suffered a devastating loss” after a fire swept through their mountain and home in Washington state. Not only were they forced to leave the area, but Bear had to stay in a hotel in Oroville for a few days. 

After hearing about his unfortunate circumstances, several fans reached out to show support. “Oh, Bear! Super sorry for all the loss. I never got to see the home. Hope your family is safe from the flames now. You can rebuild, and you will because your family is resilient!” one social media user wrote. “Thank you!” Bear replied. “Yes! It was beautiful! We won’t give up, that I guarantee!”

The family later shared an update in a video posted on their show’s Instagram page, and confirmed they were OK amid the blaze. 

“There’s been a massive wildfire on Palmer Mountain,” Noah Brown said alongside wife Rhain Brown and their son, Elijah, in the clip on August 23. “Everybody made it out completely safe. We are all totally good,” Bear added. 

All in all, Bear is thankful that his family is alright and in good health after mom Ami’s fight with lung cancer. The odds were stacked against her when she was diagnosed back in 2017, as she was given a three percent chance of survival. Fortunately, Ami’s doctors confirmed she was in remission in March 2019.
