7 Little Johnstons stars Amber Johnston and Trent Johnston decided to host a foreign exchange student named Joose Jeskanen in their home for three months, and the Finland native made his reality TV debut during season 10. After fans noticed that Joose didn’t appear on the show during season 14, viewers are wondering what he is up to today and if he will appear on season 15.

When Did Foreign Exchange Student Joose Join ‘7 Little Johnstons’?

Joose first joined the cast of 7 Little Johnstons when he moved in with Amber and Trent during season 10 of the TLC reality show.

The couple – who share kids Elizabeth, Jonah, Anna, Alex and Emma – welcomed Joose into their home after their three eldest kids graduated from high school and moved out.

After being introduced during season 10, Joose continued to make appearances during season 11.

“For the next three months, we have an exchange student living with us,” Amber explained during season 11. “We cannot wait to show him life with the Johnstons.”

“I’m so excited about this. Everything here is new for me,” Joose said as the Jonhston family picked him up at the airport. “My first reaction when I came here was that, like, cars and trucks are so different. In Finland, cars are a lot smaller. Trucks are rare in Finland.”

While living with the Johnstons, Joose got to experience some unique activities including dressing up in an inflatable turkey costume and wrestling in kiddie pools filled with applesauce and cranberry sauce. “Maybe Johnston family is crazy … But it’s OK. I like to be, like, also crazy,” Joose said about the activity.

When Did Foreign Exchange Student Joose Stop Living With the Johnstons?

Amber revealed that Joose’s time in their home came to an end in January 2022. “3 months came and gone so quickly. An amazing experience, ‘familyships’ have been made,” she captioned several photos of Joose with their family over his time in the United States.

Will Joose Make More Appearances on ‘7 Little Johnstons’?

It has not been confirmed if Joose will be featured in future episodes of 7 Little Johnstons, though he did make appearances after he stopped living with Amber and Trent.

During season 12, the Johnstons reunited with Joose at the LPA National Conference in Spokane, Washington, and they even got to meet his mother for the first time.

Then in season 13, Trent, Amber, Alex and Emma traveled to Finland to visit Joose and his family.

Despite making appearances on seasons 12 and 13, Joose did not appear on season 14 and it’s not clear if he will make a cameo during season 15.

What Is ‘7 Little Johnstons’ Star Up to Today?

Joose seems to be back in Finland, though he hasn’t posted a photo on his Instagram feed since May 2023. At the time, Joose uploaded a mirror selfie explaining that he started working at Target over the summer.
