Why Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet Keep Relationship on the ‘Down Low’: ‘There’s a Reason’

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s relationship is hotter than ever, but it’s no coincidence they’re keeping their connection out of the spotlight.

“Kylie and Timothée are still going strong, but they are keeping their romance on the down low,” a source exclusively tells In Touch. “There’s a reason they’re hiding it.”

The insider says that Timothée, 28, who is one of the hottest leading men in Hollywood at the moment, “has too many important movies in the works,” and “doesn’t want his relationship with Kylie, who makes headlines by just stepping outside, to overshadow his career.”

Although the Kardashians star, 27, is “fine with the arrangement,” the same can’t be said about her famous family.

“Her sister Kim [Kardashian] and her mom Kris [Jenner], think she’s wasting a great opportunity and should basically exploit the romance,” the source explains. “Clearly, Kylie isn’t taking their advice. She loves Timothee and wants this relationship to work.”

Rumors first swirled that the Kylie Cosmetics founder and Dune star were romantically involved in April 2023 when gossip account Deux Moi shared screenshots of text messages claiming they were dating after meeting at Paris Fashion Week three months earlier.

The A-listers later confirmed their relationship months later when they were spotted packing on PDA at a Beyoncé concert and at the U.S. Open tournament in September 2023. The pair have since made rare public outings, with their most recent one on October 12 in the Big Apple. Kylie and Timothée were casually dressed as they ate dinner at the pizza restaurant Little Charli in New York City’s West Village neighborhood.

Sources exclusively told In Touch in August that the Skims founder, 43, was furious that Kris, 68, was allowing Kylie to keep her ongoing love connection with the Wonka star private. In contrast to Kim, who has bared her whole life for the world — including her sex tape that launched the Kardashian family into reality TV fame.

“They’ve tried to put differences aside, but things keep coming up,” an insider explained on August 30. “Kim really resents that Kylie gets away with keeping her personal life private and still manages to stay in their mom’s good graces. Kylie has a different set of rules, and Kim feels it’s really unfair.”

To add insult to injury, Kylie became the first in the family to grace the highly coveted British Vogue cover for the September issue.

“Kim can’t stand that Kylie got the cover when she never did,” the source added. “She’s very jealous.”

According to the source, Kim feels that the mom of two doesn’t appreciate the sacrifices she’s made for their family. “Kylie is very entitled about it all,” noted the insider. “It drives Kim up the wall that Kylie never really credits her for opening every door for her.”

Age has also been a significant factor in their ongoing feud, with the source revealing that Kylie was “obsessed with age” as the youngest in the family. She “puts her sisters down for being older” and isn’t shy about saying that “Kim should start acting her age.” The source added, “It’s just so rude.”
