Whoopi Goldbergdoesn’t think PresidentDonald Trump‘s presence affected the outcome of the Knicks game on Monday night.
On Monday, June 8, the New York Knicks lost their first game of the NBA finals to the San Antonio Spurs. The two teams played at Madison Square Garden in NYC, and the commander-in-chief, 79, was present for the sporting event, sitting in a suite with team owner James Dolan.
The ladies of The View discussed the Game 3 loss on the Tuesday, June 9 episode of their daytime talk show, and the EGOT winner, 70, made it clear she’s not on board with people “blaming him for ending the Knicks’ winning streak last night.”

“They were not playing great ball. That’s on us,” she insisted. “This guy, I have to reiterate the fact that this man does not have that kind of power. We have to remind people.”
“I see your face, and I know how you feel, and you can say what you want,” Goldberg remarked to cohost Sunny Hostin, who had a skeptical look on her face. “But, by saying that it’s his fault that we lost, means that there’s no responsibility taken. These guys were not playing at their best.”
“For me, what is also in play is that we had an impeccable vibe in New York until the orange man showed up and put the bad juju on the Madison Square Garden,” she theorized.
“That’s ridiculous,” Goldberg uttered.

“Now we’re going to have to go back in and sage the whole Madison Square Garden to get all the bad juju out,” Hostin further suggested.
Trump did not receive a warm welcome at the game as fans in the arena booed him when he was shown on the Jumbotron during the national anthem, per a video posted on X by Variety.
