Lights, camera, no tension!

Season 4 of The White Lotus is getting ready to film soon — and to prevent a repeat of the behind-the-scenes clashing that plagued that previous installment, a source says producers have drawn up a list of non-negotiable rules for the cast and crew.

“Last season was a massive hit with critics and audiences, but it was also famously mired in drama and infighting among the multi-generational cast,” the source tells In Touch.

Jason Isaacs described the set as “a cross between summer camp and Lord of the Flies” in an interview with Vulture, revealing “there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost.” Walton Goggins even briefly unfollowed Aimee Lou Wood on Instagram after the series ended, though he later denied rumors of a rift to Variety.

“The show was not fun to shoot with so many cast members hating each other and bickering and backbiting the second the cameras turned off,” says the source, adding that creator Mike White, HBO and producers want to ensure their stars “don’t get into petty ego battles” that could cause problems when it comes time to promote the show.

Season 4 of the Emmy-winning show will reportedly take place in France and follow a new group of employees and guests, including Steve Coogan, Helena Bonham Carter, Sandra Bernhard and Chris Messina, at the White Lotus resort.

“They’re leaving nothing to chance this time, locking down the set, banning cast trailers and visits from their Hollywood reps, and even regulating social media posts about the show,” reveals the source.

“If you sign up to work on this show … you’re going to agree to rules you simply wouldn’t accept,” the source admits. “But that’s the thing with White Lotus. The show really grabs people and it turns reliable, semi-famous actors into much bigger stars.”

Adds the source, “The payoff is going to be worth the temporary headaches, if history is any guide.”
