Viewers are finally going to learn who has been cast on Survivor 50. In Touch breaks down when and where the list of fan favorite contestants is going to be revealed.
When Is ‘Survivor’ 50’s Cast Reveal?
Host Jeff Probst announced during the Survivor 48 finale on May 21, 2025, that the full list of castaways for Survivor 50 was coming one week later, on May 28, 2025.
The names of the cast members chosen from throughout the show’s previous seasons will be revealed on CBS Mornings that day.
CBS also shared casting announcement news across the show’s various social media platforms, confirming the date and where to watch it.
When Does ‘Survivor’ 50 Premiere?
The show’s 50th season premieres in February 2026, after Survivor 49 wraps up its run in the late fall of 2025.
Jeff revealed in 2024 that the show’s 50th season would feature a cast of all returning players to the game. It’s titled, “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans,” and has allowed viewers to vote on numerous components of what will be included in the series.
Throughout Survivor 48, fans were able to go to a website and vote on things such as team colors and immunity necklace designs. They’ve also been tasked with whether or not to eliminate the fire-making challenge that decides who makes it to the final three, whether a tribal swap occurs and if the show should host a live finale event as they did in the earlier days or keep the final tribal council vote being made known immediately after voting occurs in Fiji.
Jeff told fans during the Survivor 48 finale that voting was open on the last topic, which was whether or not to include immunity idols in the game. The last time a season aired that didn’t have the highly coveted item was Survivor: Palau in 2005.
As of May 22, 2025, voting closed.
What Has Jeff Probst Said About the ‘Survivor’ 50 Casting?
“It’s a good question, who are the players? I’m not kidding when I say [the process] is nothing other than everybody’s writing a list of all their favorite players, and then I think we’ll look at it and start to figure out [how to break it down],” the host and executive producer told Entertainment Tonight in 2024.
“Does that mean a season filled primarily with Hall of Famers? One populated with lesser-seen cast members? We’ll have to wait to find out!” Jeff teased.
In late March 2025, a number of former Survivor stars revealed they had been approached about appearing in Survivor 50, but had just been informed that they been cut from the casting process.
Survivor: Cagayan and Survivor: Cambodia alum Spencer Bledsoe was one of the first show alums to reveal he was in the running for Survivor 50 but had been dropped.
“Who else just got cut from season 50?” he asked in a March 27, 2025, post on X. “After being misled into feeling like a lock and then kept on ice since August, I get everyone voicing their rejection. We have lives, @JeffProbst.”
The following day, Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X contestant Jessica “Figgy” Figueroa told fans via a post on X that she too hadn’t made the final cut.
Survivor: Redemption Island star Natalie Tenerelli told fans in a March 29, 2025, Instagram post that she got the call about appearing on Survivor 50 in September 2024.
“With a 5-month-old baby by filming, I had no clue how I’d feel leaving him, but I moved forward with casting anyway, excited and empowered to make that call for myself and my baby. And then, yesterday, I got another call — turns out, the choice wasn’t mine after all. Life had other plans (plot twist!),” the new mom added about getting cut.
Several fan favorites have also said they didn’t plan to appear in Survivor 50.
Survivor: Micronesia winner and Survivor: Cook Islands, Heroes vs. Villains and Survivor 40 competitor Parvati Shallow took a pass on returning to compete on the show’s 50th season, telling TV Insider on March 21, 2025, “No, you’re not gonna see me out there.”
Survivor: Tocantins, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains and Survivor: South Pacific legend Benjamin “Coach” Wade told fans he wasn’t coming back after being flooded with questions about if he wanted to play again.
“Stop asking I’m retired,” flashed across the screen of his March 29, 2025, Instagram post, along with “#Survivor50,” while some of his most epic show moments appeared.
