Usher Warns Stage Guests After Kicking Out Bored Fan
Usher warns concertgoers to bring energy after an awkward onstage moment with a hesitant fan during his Can U Handle It serenade on the R&B Tour.
Usher will not tolerate guests on stage anymore who are not bringing the energy.
During a recent stop in Nashville on his “R&B Tour” that he’s co-headlining with Chris Brown, Usher had an awkward onstage moment with an uncomfortable audience member at his Nashville show.
At his show in Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday, July 28, Usher issued a clear warning to future concertgoers chosen for his “Can U Handle It?” serenade.
“Before we get started, don’t bring your ass up here if you don’t wanna be here,” the R&B superstar told the crowd, according to a TikTok video from the concert.
“God don’t like ugly. But most certainly doesn’t feel too good about pretty privilege either!”

Usher created a viral moment after ushering an uncomfortable fan offstage mid-performance. After bringing the audience member onstage to join him for his intimate serenade during “Can U Handle It?” â the woman was hesitant during the song.
Sensing her reluctance, Usher paused, turned to the crowd, and remarked, “I don’t think she wants to be on stage,” before waving her off to be escorted back to her seat.
Gabrielle Cheyenne, the fan who Usher called on stage, came forward to speak to TMZ about the incident and said she preferred to be on stage with Brown.
“I was approached first and upgraded to VIP. They don’t give you any instructions on who, what, when, where, or how,” Cheyenne said. “They told me that it was a possibility of me going on stage, but they didn’t confirm that until it was closer to the time for me to go on stage. Of course, you’re getting to go on stage; why would I decline that?”
“Me, solely, I went to the concert for Chris Brown. It’s nothing against Usher,” Cheyenne continued. “I’m more of a Chris Brown fan than I am of Usher. Of course, it would’ve been a different reaction with Chris Brown; it wouldn’t have been the stiffness or whatever the internet is portraying.”
If you are ever called on stage by Usher, you better bring the right energy.
