Tom Brady Gets Dad-Shamed for Aggressively Jumping Off a Waterfall With 6-Year-Old Daughter

Dads take the heat too! New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady felt the wrath of the parent police this weekend when he jumped off a waterfall with his daughter.

On Saturday, July 20, the football player, 41, posted a video to Instagram of him and his daughter having some fun on vacation in Costa Rica. The video shows the pair holding hands and jumping in the water together, although the jump was not very graceful. “If Vivi is going to be an Olympic champion one day, it probably won’t be in synchronized diving,” wrote Tom. “Daddy always gives her a 10 though! 🏅🏅🏅”

An outpour of celebrities commented on the video. Some found humor in the footage while others found it pretty cringy. Basketball star and celebrity dad Stephen Curry commented on the video with a series of laughing emojis as well as soccer player Harry Kane. Fellow footballer, Brett Favre, added that he thought Vivi was the GOAT when it came to synchronized jumping and wrote, “She is a 10 but old dad gets a👎😂😂😂”. The Rock also joined in on the conversation, but he found the video stressful like many others. “You KNOW I have complete faith in you as a man, friend, player and father — but this just gave me anxiety. Geeezus 😂👏🏾👏🏾,” he wrote.

Some fans didn’t find any humor in the video and were concerned for the child’s safety. “Very very bad, [you’re] lucky she didn’t have an accident with that jump,” read one comment while another said, “It looks like he yanked her like a rag doll. That was scary.”

Tom has yet to respond to the backlash from the video and it does not appear that Vivian was injured in any way. The athlete shares Vivian and her brother Benjamin, 9, with his wife, Gisele Bündchen. Tom is also the father to John Edward Thomas Moynahan, 11, from a previous relationship.
