The Challenge's CT Will 'Always Love' Ex Catalina Amid Drama
Chris “CT” Tamburello is setting the record straight about where he stands with ex-girlfriend Catalina Hager. After sharing another cryptic Instagram post about Cat, the Challenge star took to his Instagram Story to post a lengthy video about the ups and downs of their relationship.
“I feel like everybody thinks I’m about to walk off a ledge or some s–t,” CT, 44, said. “I love Cat. I always will. What you guys don’t know is that in the amount of time that we’ve known each other, we’ve gone through a lot together. She was getting out of a 13-year marriage, me an eight-year relationship, four years married. We didn’t expect to meet each other. We had a connection.”
CT’s video message came after he posted screenshots of certain texts he received from Catalina, 38, over the last several months. All of the messages featured her referencing plans to marry the reality star. “That’s where we’d get married,” she wrote in one message from April. “When we’re married,” she said in another text. In July, she wrote, “Should we just go fly somewhere and get married? Real idea.”
The original caption of CT’s Instagram post was, “…call me crazy,” with an emoji of someone shrugging. Fans popped into the comments section with concerned messages for the MTV star who were worried that he wasn’t doing well in the aftermath of his November breakup from Catalina. “Oh this hurts my heart for you. You are worthy. You are valued. You are loved,” one person commented. Another wrote, “You need a break bud ! Go work on you.”
CT then edited the Instagram caption to add, “I’m going to say what I want to say about my life and how I feel… IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WITH US… I’ll always have LOVE for her.…and if it’s ‘bad for business’ so be it. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP ACTING LIKE THIS IS A FUNERAL. FR. we going to act like love isnt worth sharing regardless of what we may think!?. We are both crazy in our own right… and I’ll always love that wild mustang. She would have killed me by now if she wouldn’t miss me..”
His Instagram Story video expanded on these feelings. CT praised Catalina for “saving [his] life” while he was going through his divorce from Lilianet Solares in 2023. “It’s sick and complicated,” he added. “That’s how it is and that’s fine. When I’m posting about her, I just want everyone to know – it’s cute, I’m showing love. I’m always going to care about her. This isn’t me crying in a corner type s–t. Maybe it’s my own fault because I kind of let the mopiness in the past go on for so long, but guys, you need to chill out.”
He urged fans to stop “crossing a line” with their comments toward both him and Catalina. “I love her, but at the same time, I f–king hate her. I know she feels the same way about me. We have our own lives and paths to go down, but what you guys don’t understand is me and her are yin and yang. I can’t hate her because it’s like hating myself. … I’m always going to have love for her. Everyone needs to stop hating her.”
CT and Catalina went public with their relationship in September, although they had already been together for several months at that point. In November, he publicly accused her of cheating on him and posted screenshots of messages between her and other men. However, she insisted that the messages had only taken place on OnlyFans and were part of her job as an influencer on the platform.
The Real World alum then publicly apologized to Catalina and assured fans that she had done nothing wrong. “It appears I spoke a bit too soon and way out of pocket. Moving forward, I’ll keep matters like this in house,” he wrote on Instagram. He also added, “Catalina … I’m so sorry I hurt you. I understand this probably won’t change anything. And even though we already spoke about it, it’s only right that I give you a public apology.”
In his new video, CT addressed this change of heart, telling fans, “I’m not gonna hate her. Not for nothing, I said it wasn’t even true and everyone’s still coming at her.”
