The Amazing Race season 37 star Ana Rivera Towns has seemingly implied that her relationship with husband Jonathan Towns is “edited” by producers to only show negative moments amid backlash from viewers.

The stay-at–home mom, 35, took to her Instagram Stories ahead of the latest episode on Wednesday, May 7, to share a since-deleted screenshot of a fan’s TikTok comment, which read, “My friend was on Amazing Race and told me that she and her husband fought the entire time and they edited out 100 percent of it. She was SO happy lol.”

The caption over the screenshot read, “FYI, we have heard this from COUNTLESS racers that have been on the show in the past.”

Ana added, “Very interested to see what they CHOOSE to show tonight.”

Ana’s post came as fans have criticized her husband’s behavior on The Amazing Race week after week, such as in moments when he told her to “stop whining” or blamed her for losing their lead.

The backlash continued during the May 7 episode, which saw the five remaining teams travel from Italy to Germany and then to France. At one point in the leg, Jonathan, 42, called Ana a “terrible partner” after she told him that he was being mean to her, which sent many viewers into a frenzy.

“I know I’ve said it before, but I think it’s more than fitting to say it again, Jonathan’s an a–hole. The way Ana tolerates his disrespect is absolutely astounding. I REALLY hope they get eliminated because Jonathan [is] insufferable,” one person wrote on X.

“Jonathan is terrible to Ana on this show, full stop. That’s it. No debate. It is incredibly uncomfortable to watch,” another user added.

“Jonathan is the most arrogant, obnoxious person I can ever remember seeing on #TheAmazingRace. He blames everyone else for his mistakes. I really like Ana and she’s doing a great job, but I want them eliminated,” a third person posted.

Jonathan and Ana previously addressed the backlash in an April 8 video on their YouTube channel, revealing that the software developer sought professional help after seeing his behavior play out on TV and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

“Looking back at what I was seeing, and knowing what I know about myself now, it’s so hard for me to be supportive and helpful to somebody when my brain is in this overheated state,” Jonathan said in the video, adding that his “hyperactive brain” was triggered during TAR.

“When I’m on The Race, unlike when I’m at home, I cannot control the external factors. I have no control – my routines are completely non-existent,” he continued. “And we rely on – people like me rely on routines in order to help us regulate our emotions and to control the amount of stimulus that we can get at any given time.”

Becoming emotional, Ana added that Jonathan “had been talking about going on The Amazing Race for so many years,” and she knew that going home would give him “so many regrets.”

“Especially now knowing it’s an actual disorder, it didn’t stop you from doing well in the race. It didn’t stop you from succeeding in the race. I mean, we proved that in, you know, the legs coming up. … But we just didn’t know how hard it was going to be,” she concluded.
