Teen Mom’s Jenelle Evans Reveals If She Will Return to MTV After Exit: ‘Closed Chapter’ 

Jenelle Evans has officially entered a new era following her split from her estranged husband, David Eason in 2024. From celebrating her singlehood with an “I Do. I Did. I’m Done.” divorce party at Spearmint Rhino in New York City this summer to focusing on her own happiness and coparenting solo, the Teen Mom 2 alum is reclaiming her peace and writing a brand-new chapter with confidence and clarity.

“I’m looking at creating a podcast,” Jenelle, 33, tells In Touch exclusively. “I’m also working on a cannabis brand I mentioned last year, so that’s still in the works. And I’m focused on working behind the scenes in TV, rather than always being in front of the camera. So I have a lot of different projects lined up and I’m really glad I’m staying busy.”

The former reality TV star, who first entered the public eye at just 17 years old on 16 and Pregnant, has been in the spotlight for well over a decade. Fans watched Jenelle grow up on camera, navigating motherhood, mental health struggles, legal battles and a roller-coaster of relationships on Teen Mom 2. Over the years, she’s become one of the most talked-about personalities in the franchise known for her bold honesty, resilience and always telling it like it is.

But in 2022, Jenelle confirmed she had stepped away from Teen Mom for good. That didn’t stop fans from wondering if she might return to the MTV world in the future.

“Well, we’re on good terms,” she says of her relationship with the network. “I’m still under contract with them, but they’re letting me explore and do my own thing, which is great and I really appreciate them for that. But as for the future with the show, I have no idea. I think working on other projects would be more fun for me. And I feel like that’s just a closed chapter.”

For the first time in years, Jenelle is focused on building something new. “Behind the scenes” for her means producing shows, developing original content and even stepping into acting. “Producing and appearing on other shows, scripted or reality,” she shares. “I’m actually taking acting classes, too, so I’m really looking forward to seeing where that takes me.”

It’s clear Jenelle’s not chasing visibility anymore, she’s chasing healing, growth and peace. After surviving the ups and downs of public life, she’s finally calling the shots. And if she could give one piece of advice to her younger self?

“Don’t be afraid to leave the situation that you’re in,” she says. “And don’t stay in the same situation that’s going to make you miserable.”

That kind of wisdom only comes with experience and Jenelle’s had more of it than most women her age. But today, she’s determined to build something stronger, healthier and more grounded for herself and her three children.

“I’ve been through a lot,” Jenelle says. “But I feel like I’m finally heading in the direction I’ve always wanted, just on my own terms this time.”
