‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Amber Portwood, 24, Defends Her Relationship With Fiancé, 43
Amber Portwood is speaking out in the name of love!
After her fiancé, Matthew Baier, made his debut on this week’s Teen Mom OG, the 24-year-old took to Twitter to defend not only her 43-year-old beau, but also their relationship!
Amber says there was “an instant connection” between Matt and her six-year-old daughter, Leah.
In addition to their 19-year age difference, fans were particularly judgmental about his tumultuous past. The Boston native admitted to the MTV cameras that he, like Amber, struggled with substance abuse.
“[What the hell] yes he was an addict just like me and the man’s body is niiice,” she tweeted to a fan who called Matt “an animal.”
“He can be 30 years older, [I don’t care]. Lol love not hate.”

In another tweet, she wrote, “Me and [Matt] both have rocky pasts… I’m not an angel and there’s a lot of things we’re not proud of but people change and we’re in love.”

As it was revealed on ‘Teen Mom OG,’ the couple first crossed paths on Twitter and conversed online for six months before he came to Indiana to meet her in person.
Shortly after his arrival, he moved in with Amber and popped the question last November.
