‘Teen Mom 2’ Alum Jace Evans Speaks Out After Spending Time in Mental Health Facility

Teen Mom 2 alum Jace Evans gave fans a life update just weeks after he was released from a mental health facility.

“Everyone was happy to have me back home. I’ve been doing my best,” Jace, 17, said during an Instagram Live on Tuesday, August 18, according to The Ashleys. “I considered [living] by myself, honestly, but I’m at my grandma’s because I’ve got a job. I’ve got everything I need to get done. I’m about to be done with school.”

As In Touch previously reported, the troubled teenager — whom mom Jenelle Evans shares with ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis — was admitted into a mental health facility in March after allegedly pulling a gun on his grandma, Barbara Evans, and threatening to kill himself.

Jace was raised by his maternal grandmother since infancy. Jenelle, 34, signed away her rights when Jace was a baby, then fought for years to regain custody.

Despite the 16 & Pregnant star regaining custody of her eldest son in 2023, Jace went back to living with Barbara following his hospitalization. Jenelle — who also shares son Kaiser, 12, with ex Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley, 9, with ex-husband David Eason — currently lives in Florida with Eason.

“Jace is back at my mom’s at the moment and isn’t coming to live with me because my mother and I have mutually agreed upon his living situation and circumstances,” Jenelle told Us Weekly on August 13.

She added, “This has nothing to do with David at all. Jace wants to be around his friends and is now working at his job again that he once had. I’m really happy all parties can come together for my son and finally agree on something.”

On Tuesday, Jace reportedly said, “My grandma, she’s doing pretty good…I’m over here just living my life.”

He added that upon his 18th birthday next August, he hopes to “go around the world, travel and film content.”
