Savannah Guthrie has broken her silence on the contents of the second ransom note.
On the Tuesday, June 23 episode of Today, the hosts opened revealing the latest update on the disappearance case of Savannah’s 84-year-old mother Nancy, who went missing from her home just north of Tucson, Arizona, on February 1.
NBC News reported the second ransom note delivered to the family said she had died accidentally in the midst of her abduction. Despite many claims, the outlet clarified there was no apology or request for payment for the release of her body.
After the report aired, Craig Melvin turned to Savannah and commended his co-host, saying, “The bravery and courage with which you have done this job every day since that happened, nothing short of remarkable.”
Savannah broke into tears as she responded, “I love you guys, and I love this place. This is unusual and unprecedented — to say the least — to be sitting here.”

The host then clarified she does not know anything about the recent update and can’t add any more details.
“But I can’t pretend I’m not here,” she added. “And so since I am, I wanted to just take the opportunity to ask people, really to beg people, to come forward. Somebody knows something.”
She went onto say the new story is the life her family has lived everyday since her mother was kidnapped.
“We are in agony and we cannot be at peace,” she continued. “So no matter how much I try to come out here every day and to smile and find that joy — and I will, I promise I will — this is a moment to tell you that we need your help. We’re begging for your help. And I’m not gonna miss that opportunity.
Savannah lastly begged, “So please, if you’re watching, no matter how small, the reward is there. You can tell us. It can be anonymous. Please do the right thing for us, for our family, for our children. We love our mom, and we’ll never stop looking for her ever.”
The Guthrie family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information on Nancy’s whereabouts.
