Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb Reunite on ‘Today’ After a Year Amid Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance

Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb evoked some morning show nostalgia!

On Monday, April 13, the two TV personalities co-hosted Today for the first time since Kotb, 61, departed the show on January 10, 2025.

“Hi, everybody, good morning, and welcome to Today,” Savannah, 54, remarked while sitting next to Kotb, according to Page Six. “Nice to have you with us on a Monday morning.”

Savannah then turned to Kotb and touched her arm, exclaiming, “I’m so glad to have you here, Hoda!”

Kotb, for her part, was equally as excited, remarking, “I’m so happy sitting next to you in this chair again,” to which Guthrie noted, “Yeah, it’s good. It’s just like the old times!”

As for why Kotb was back, she explained that host Craig Melvin was taking a “well-deserved vacation with his family this week.”

The two women famously served as the primary Today co-hosts from 2017 to 2025, and Melvin, 46, took over after Kotb left to spend more time with her children.

However, Kotb has been no stranger to Today since her exit, as she filled in for Savannah the past few months amid the disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was reported missing on February 1.

As In Touch previously reported, Savannah made an emotional comeback to Today on Monday, April 6, as the search for her mom continues. Upon her return, she was greeted by a small crowd on the Today plaza, with co-hosts Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, Al Roker, Carson Daly, and Jenna Bush Hager. 

“These signs are so beautiful. You guys have been so beautiful,” Savannah said, teary-eyed, while holding Bush Hager’s hand. “I’ve received so many letters, so much kindness to me and my family. We feel it. We feel your prayers, so thank you so much.”
