Hoda Kotb is heading back to the Today show anchor desk — and fans are getting a long-awaited reunion.
According to Today, during the April 9 broadcast of the morning show,Savannah Guthrie announced that Kotb will fill in for Craig Melvin while he takes time off starting on Monday, April 13.
“Craig, you are heading off on a very well-deserved vacation,” Guthrie said. “And Monday, we’re going to try a new host here. Her name is Hoda.”
“Oh, I’ve heard of her,” Melvin joked.
The moment marks the first time Kotb, 61, and Guthrie, 54, will co-anchor the show together since Kotb stepped back from the show in January 2025. The pair previously made history as the first all-female co-anchor duo to star on Today and worked side by side for seven years.

Their reunion comes just days after Savannah returned to the show on April 6 following time away with her family amid the ongoing search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84. “It is good to be home,” Savannah said upon her return, thanking viewers for their support.
Kotb and Savannah previously sat down for an emotional interview in March as Savannah detailed navigating life amid the disappearance of Nancy.
“We are in agony,” Savannah admitted to her former longtime colleague, per NBC News. “It is unbearable.”
