Mark Wahlberg, Jason Isaacs and More Stars Who Have Worn Prosthetic Penises in Movies and TV Shows
Based on Hollywood movies, it seems like every man in the world is incredibly well-endowed — and bizarrely shameless. But we’re going to let you in on a little behind-the-scenes secret: These guys have help from “movie magic.”
Enter, the best supporting actor; the unsung hero; the prosthetic penis.
“I would say that it did start with Euphoria, probably about two years ago,” special makeup effects designer Jason Collins told Thrillist in 2022. Eric Dane wore one of three prosthetic penises created during season one of the HBO drama.
However, prosthetic body parts are nothing new. Mark Wahlberg famously wore a prosthetic penis in 1997’s Boogie Nights, as well as a custom merkin (a.k.a. a wig for his nether regions).
The latest actor who had fans questioning, “Is it real?” was Jason Isaacs, who had a full-frontal nudity scene in The White Lotus season 3 in March 2025.
