Prince William ‘Enraged’ By Meghan Markle’s ‘Publicity Grab’ Involving Princess Diana’s Childhood Home

Don’t expect Prince William to double-tap Meghan Markle‘s latest Instagram post.

On Thursday, July 23, the Duchess of Sussex shared images from her “summer holiday” — including a snap of Prince Harry and their kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, at Princess Diana‘s childhood estate, Althorp.

“The fact they shared a photo of the children on the grounds of Diana’s family home has enraged William,” an insider tells In Touch. “He says it’s so obvious it was done to get headlines and that sickens him.”

Following her 1997 death in a tragic car accident at age 36, the Princess of Wales was buried on the ancestral property, and the Suits alum’s picture seemed to hint the California-based clan laid flowers upon her grave during their July visit to the U.K.

“William doesn’t have any objection to Archie and Lilibet paying their respects to their late grandmother, but to turn it into a publicity grab is just beyond disrespectful,” says the insider. “He’s incredibly sad that they would stoop this low.”

Other pictures from the 44-year-old’s social media account appeared to show Harry, 41, and his brood on vacation in Portugal.

“Even those photos have William seeing red,” the insider admits. “If they are so concerned about privacy, he simply doesn’t understand why they would alert the world to where they spend their family holidays. He finds it very hypocritical.”

In July, the Duke of Sussex and six other claimants lost a years-long privacy lawsuit against U.K. publisher Associated Newspapers Limited, as reported by the BBC.

“To William, everything Meghan and Harry do is just about their public image at this point,” adds the insider. “He believes the Instagram post proves nothing has changed [since their reunion with King Charles III] and insists he’s not the only one who sees it that way.”
