Nick Cannon Vows to Carry on Nipsey Hussle’s Legacy By Finishing and Releasing the Late Rapper’s Documentary

He’s determined. Nick Cannon hinted on Instagram that he’s going to finish and release a documentary that the late rapper Nipsey Hussle had been working on before his untimely death, in an effort to remember and honor him. Hussle tragically passed away from multiple gunshot wounds on Sunday, March 31.

“And the Lord said, ‘Job well done my son …’ @nipseyhussle King this is how I want to remember you! Laughing! Smiling!” Cannon wrote in the caption of a photo featuring himself and the late rapper. “I ain’t slept yet, thinking about our conversations! Real ones from a real one! And I’m gonna say this only for the real ones to recognize. Where you left off, we gonna carry [on!]”

Cannon continued, “It’s a MARATHON, so I’m picking up the baton! Because they can’t kill us all! Spiritual warfare is REAL and in full effect. And now your Spirit is protecting your community eternally! Your words, your steps, your walk always was and always will be SOLID!” He concluded the post by writing, “Now, your message is my message! Your work is my work! I know you still rocking with us and your voice will never be silenced because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Most High! So now that you are at peace don’t rest … Keep leading … Keep shining King! Cosmic Love My Brotha! 🙏🏾✊🏾”

In other posts, Cannon shared videos of the late Dr. Sebi, a healer from Honduras who claimed to find a cure for AIDS, Vibe reported. Until his death, Hussle was working on a documentary about Dr. Sebi. And Cannon’s caption on the picture of him and Hussle — with vows like “I’m picking up the baton” — as well as the statements he wrote on the Dr. Sebi videos like, “We have to take RESPONSIBILITY for our OWN!! #Marathon #drsebi,” sure made it seem like he wants to finish that work for Hussle.

Hussle was shot and killed outside his clothing store in Los Angeles at the end of March. On April 2, a statement from the L.A. police department revealed that they have a suspect in the case — 29-year-old Eric Holder of Los Angeles. According to the police, three people were shot, but Hussle was the only one who didn’t survive. But thanks to people like Cannon, his legacy will surely live on.
