NewsNation’s Brian Entin isn’t so sure authorities are closer to solving Nancy Guthrie‘s disappearance despite Pima County Chris Nanos‘ recent remarks.
Nanos was asked by Fox News on May 8 if officials were “any closer” to finding Nancy, 84, and he replied, “We are.” However, Entin questioned the accuracy of the statement.
“I thought that was interesting because my sources close to the investigation, sadly, have been telling me that they are not much closer in terms of solving the case,” Entin said during the Monday, May 11, episode of his show, Brian Entin Investigates.
He clarified that it “doesn’t mean” investigators “aren’t doing a ton of work behind the scenes.”
“But I don’t get the sense from my sources that they are getting much closer,” Entin continued. “It’s not a cold case, but it’s just interesting that the sheriff said that they’re getting closer. That’s not exactly what I’m hearing from my sources.”

It’s been more than 100 days since Nancy was last seen on January 31 after she was dropped off at her Catalina Foothills home by her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni. A friend alerted the family the following morning when she failed to arrive to watch a streaming church service.
Since then, there have been few major developments in the case despite multiple pleas from Savannah Guthrie, 54, for the suspects to bring her mother home.
The Today cohost shared a heartbreaking montage of clips featuring Nancy on Mother’s Day, and she once again begged for Nancy’s return.

“Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie – we miss you with every breath,” Savannah captioned the video on Instagram. “We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you.”
“We need help. Someone knows something that can make the difference,” she continued. “Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward remains available. Please keep praying. Bring her home.”
