After months of almost no real movement in the investigation into the disappearance of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, the case has taken a dramatic turn in recent days.
On Friday, June 26, TMZ reported that they had received another chilling email from the anonymous person who claims to know who kidnapped Nancy, and this time the sender says he has video of the “main guy” with the 84-year-old on what may have been the last day of her life.

The outlet claims they authenticated the new message as coming from the same sender behind the earlier emails, matching both an old Bitcoin address and a previously used alias.
The writer reportedly pushed back on a report that the FBI believes the sender might be a woman, insisting he is not the person who recently called in a tip about a burial site in Mexico.
He claims two kidnappers were involved, building on his earlier assertion that more than one person took part. The sender then made fresh claims, saying he has a phone stashed in a secure spot that holds a short video of the “main guy” with Nancy, along with photos, names, addresses, and ages of those involved.

The anonymous man then adds, “What it contains is my definition of delivering them on a silver platter, a short video of the main guy with nancy the day that was probably her last, pictures of both involved, names and addresses and age.”
He reportedly offered the password in exchange for one Bitcoin, currently worth roughly $65,000, and provided a new wallet address.
TMZ said it responded by asking him to send a single screengrab of Nancy to verify the claim, and that it forwarded the email to the FBI.
None of the sender’s claims has been confirmed, and no suspects have been publicly identified or charged.

Authorities continue to investigate the disappearance of Nancy, who vanished from her Tucson, Arizona, home on February 1 in what investigators believe was an overnight abduction.
