Miley Cyrus Seemingly Confirms Cody Simpson Romance as She Admits That He’s ‘Her Type’
Queen of casual hookups! Miley Cyrus may have only recently called it quits on her fling with Kaitlynn Carter, but the rumors that she’s already moved on to Cody Simpson seem to be spot on. On Friday, October 4, she took to Instagram to seemingly confirm the new romance herself, sharing video footage an eyewitness captured of the couple making out. She also declared that the singer is her “type” as she joked about participating in Hot Girl Fall.
Sharing a black-and-white photo of Cody looking hot AF, she captioned it, “22 ✅ Australian (my type) ✅ Abs ✅.” At the bottom of the image, she hinted that ’tis the season as she celebrated what Twitter has dubbed ~thotumn.~ Her next Instagram Story showed the slyly-shot kissing clip. “Can a girl not get a f–king açaí bowl and a morning makeout session in peace?!?!” she wrote, joking, “Lol sneaky ass.” She also shared an article that complimented Cody’s muscular bod, adding, “Thank you. #HotGirlFall.”
Interestingly, the photo she chose to share of Cody was similar to pictures he’d posted on his own Instagram Story on Thursday, October 3. Was Miley the one behind the camera snapping the shots? According to an insider who exclusively spilled the details to In Touch, the 22-year-old hottie is just what Miley needs. “[They’re] old friends,” the source said. “Right now she needs someone she can trust and rely on and Cody is that guy, he gets her.” They were even spot on about what draws the couple together, adding, “He’s super sweet, tall and Australian — just like her ex Liam. So there’s that!”
It also doesn’t hurt to have a rebound after things fell through with her rebound. “Miley is trying to figure it all out. It’s been a whirlwind since her breakup with Liam, and then her quick romance with Kaitlynn, which ended abruptly,” the insider explained. “It’s been like Hurricane Miley swooped in, but now she realizes that she needs to let the dust settle before she gets into another relationship.” That’s why having fun with Cody is right up her alley. “[He] has a calming effect on [her], and that’s what she needs right now,” they said. “He’s like her comfort food. She needs Cody in her life right now.”
Though the star kept her response to the rumors silly on Instagram, she got serious on Twitter. Addressing the public conversation about her love life, she reminded fans that she is entitled to some privacy but that, regardless, men don’t seem to face the same judgement that women do. “I know the public feels invested in my past relationship because they felt like they saw it through from the beginning,” she wrote. “I think that’s why people have always felt so entitled over my life and how I live it because they’ve watched me grow up. But I am grown now and make choices as an adult knowing the truth/details/reality. People only ‘know’ what they see on the internet.”
Calling out those who’ve side-eyed her for moving on so quickly, she continued, “Men (especially successful ones) are RARELY slut-shamed. They move on from one beautiful young woman to the next MOST times without consequence. They are usually referenced as ‘legends,’ ‘heartthrobs,’ ‘G,’ ‘ladies man,’ etc. where women are called sluts/whores! I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a ‘man’s’ world,” she claimed. “If we can’t beat ’em, join ’em! If our president can ‘grab ’em by the p—y’ … can’t I just have a kiss and açaí bowl?”

“I refuse to recluse and ‘date’ from home ’cause A. that’s not fun B. [it’s] extremely uncomfortable/puts me in a vulnerable position,” she continued. “I would like to share an activity with someone I am dating and not be stuck at home with pretty much nothing to do but ‘Netflix and chill.’ … This ‘dating’ thing is new to me too,” she admitted. “I’ve never been an ‘adult’/grown ass woman experiencing this. I was in a committed relationship for almost all [of] my teens and early 20s with the exception of a few breaks, which usually in those times I was working my ass off with not much R&R. And ‘meeting/trusting’ people in my position is really tough. Don’t f–king pity me; not what I’m asking for. I have a great life I wouldn’t trade for ‘privacy,’ but PLEASE don’t make this awkward for me!”
Referencing her playful Instragram posts, she said, “I am trying to make light and, like always, MAKE FUN of myself/and the public’s perception of me! Get used to me dating — this is where I am at!” Tell ’em, girl. Let the woman have her breakfast *and* her snack, won’t you?
