Jelly Roll’s Teen Daughter Says She Is ‘Disgusted’ by Public Obsession With His Divorce From Bunnie Xo
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo divorce sparks reaction from daughter Bailee Ann DeFord, who defended the family’s privacy on TikTok after the split went public.
The sudden collapse of a country music power couple has prompted a fierce defense from inside the household. Bailee Ann DeFord, the 18-year-old daughter of breakout music star Jason DeFord (professionally known as Jelly Roll), has officially broken her silence regarding her father’s recent divorce from his longtime spouse, Alisa DeFord (popularly known as Bunnie Xo). The teenager didn’t hold back her absolute frustration over the world’s deep fixation on their painful family split.
Taking to TikTok Stories on June 16, the high school graduate vented her rage over the relentless public chatter. “I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter,” the younger DeFord firmly penned. She branded the speculation as “fkn crazy” and instructed nosy onlookers to focus entirely on their own lives, writing, “Go on somewhere yall. Worry bout your house—not mine.” Though she requested privacy, she left a cryptic hint that she might unpack the full story down the line, concluding, “I’m not speaking on it — yet.” She later posted an update thanking those who showed kindness, reminding fans to preserve human decency.
The defense arrived less than a day after legal documents revealed that the 41-year-old patriarch had quietly filed for divorce on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The musician established their separation on May 9, ending a romance that survived a brief 2018 split over an affair. Clues caught fire in early June when the Grammy winner was spotted ringless at Nashville’s CMA Fest. Since then, a moving van was photographed outside their home, and the 46-year-old podcast host has dropped cryptic hints. Bunnie Xo lip-synced to Nickelback‘s “How You Remind Me” before posting a picture on social media, writing, “She’s getting her sparkle back.”

The publicity is painful for the teenager, who shares an intensely tight bond with her stepmother. When the elder DeFord won custody in 2017, Bunnie Xo bankrolled the legal team and assumed a maternal role, matching her own history with maternal addiction. The pair had also been undergoing an IVF journey to expand their family, which includes his 9-year-old son, Noah Buddy. Insiders told the Daily Mail that the friction stemmed from his Christian faith clashing with his partner’s background as a former sex worker. This stands in sharp contrast to his recent Grammy speech, declaring, “I would have never changed my life without you… I thank you for that.”
While the family deals with the aftermath, Jelly Roll is currently on the road, performing alongside Post Malone on a tour that runs through October.
