Ew, Fans Think Michelle Duggar Updated Her Hairstyle Because Jim Bob Wanted Her to Look More Like His Daughters

Well, this is awk. In case you haven't noticed, Michelle Duggar has done away with her dated perms and opted for a more modern look. These days, the Counting On matriarch seems to be taking note from her 10 daughters, who all rock softer curls. Yet some fans think Jim Bob had something to do with the sudden change… and not, ya know, the fact that it's 2018.

One reddit user wrote, "I find it interesting that Michelle's daughters ditched those awful crunchy perms first (I think Jana blazed the trail but I might be wrong — I just know that Jessa and Jinger were the last ones to ditch it) and then Michelle followed in their footsteps some years later. Why, though? Why did she wear roadkill on top of her head for 20+ years and then suddenly change her hairstyle?" They added, "I came up with a theory that may explain why: Maybe Jim Bob decided that he liked his daughters' new hairstyles more than that eyesore on Michelle's head and asked her to wear her hair like his daughters'. If I'm right, then ew. How creepy." W.T.F.

In response, one person wrote, "She had big hair before because it was full of secrets, but now since all the Josh stuff is out she decided to deflate it a little." Another added, "They probably can't afford all that hairspray anymore," and a third chimed in, "I think the whole idea behind the crispy Michelle hair was that 'that's what men like' (I could have sworn she said this)." Although that's not confirmed, it may not be far off from the truth.

The Duggars are notorious for abiding by strict, conservative rules, but lately she's been really, ahem, letting her hair down. Michelle has been following in her rebel daughters' footsteps and wearing pants! Gasp.

The pants-wearing actually happened last summer when Michelle and Jim Bob were vacationing in Hawaii, but the patriarch of the family uploaded the photo on Dec. 1. Of course, after the parents enforced strict rules on their kids for decades, fans thought it was kind of messed up for Michelle to wear pants. "Is that pants on Michelle!?" asked a fan, while another teased, saying, "Careful there Michelle.. you're showing off a lot of leg!" Not that we're agreeing with the redditor's theory, but her daughters have been wearing pants lately too…
