‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ Is Back for Season 7: Trailer, Premiere Date, More Details
June “Mama June” Shannon and her daughters are back for season 7 of WeTV’s Mama June: Family Crisis. In anticipation of the new season, In Touch breaks down everything you need to know about the trailer, premiere date and more.
What Is ‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ Season 7 About?
The upcoming season will see June fighting for custody of her late daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell’s daughter Kaitlyn after her death in December 2023.
“June also searches for a new, bigger house with [husband] Justin [Stroud] and works toward keeping a healthy lifestyle with new tricks up her sleeve,” according to the press release. “Away at college, Alana [Thompson] continues to wait for repayment from June and worries her boyfriend, Dralin [Carswell], may face jail time.”
Meanwhile, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird’s “business booms with a new warehouse, a vendor event and a new employee – causing a rift with Jessica [Shannon].”
The new episodes will also show “Pumpkin and Josh [Efird]’s marriage is in trouble, leading her to make a shocking decision.”
What Happens in the Trailer for ‘Mama June: Family Crisis’?
The season 7 trailer – which was released on April 15, 2025 – opens with Pumpkin preparing viewers to “get ready for a lot of changes” in a voiceover.
“Even though we might be a dysfunctional family, our dysfunctionality works for our family,” June told her daughters and Justin during a dinner outing.
Alana – also known as Honey Boo Boo – later confronted June about the money she owes her for college. As fans watched during the past season, June spent money that Alana earned during her child star career that was put aside in her Coogan account. Alana was granted access to the account when she turned 18, though she quickly learned that her mother had spent a significant amount of the money.
The trailer got even more intense with Pumpkin announcing her plans to divorce Josh, and he emotionally appeared in a confessional as he said he was “definitely not” OK.
Outside of her money drama, the season will follow Alana and Dralin as he dealt with his ongoing legal issues after he was arrested for a DUI in 2023. “I’m just really hoping that he does not have to go to jail,” she said in a confessional.
Not only was Dralin dealing with legal issues, but so were June and Justin as they fought Anna’s ex Michael Cardwell for custody of Kaitlyn. “We’re gonna fight like hell to have that happen,” June said of the custody battle.

“Bombshells are getting dropped,” Pumpkin continued in the voiceover as intense clips showed the family interacting. “And nobody could’ve predicted what would happen next.”
Several more tense moments between the family members continued, and the trailer ended with Pumpkin telling one of her family members during a party, “Bitch, I’m done with you.”
