Jessa Duggar Opens Up About Brother Josh’s Molestation and Cheating Scandals: “It Was Very Difficult”

A first pregnancy is rarely easy. But it was especially difficult for Jessa Duggar — because while carrying her first child, Spurgeon, she was forced to deal with the aftermath of her eldest brother, Josh’s, cheating and molestation scandals.

On last night’s episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, Mrs. Ben Seewald, 23, opened up about what it was like to have the scandals come to light.

“It was very difficult, and we cried a lot of tears, and I feel like it was especially difficult for me just because I had spoken out for Josh and stood up for him, and then there was another whole wave of things that came through,” she lamented. “Some things were exposed about his personal life now, what he was currently involved in… There were some things that he was hiding and that he wasn’t being honest about.”

As fans may remember, Jessa defended her brother when she came forward as a victim of his — only to revoke her support when it was revealed that he had an extramarital affair.

Fortunately, Jessa had something to distract her during the drama — her pregnancy!

“Being pregnant was a breath of fresh air because we had the birth of this child to look forward too,” she gushed.

Sister Jana added, “Even in some of the hardest times in your life, there can still be joy.”
