Jenelle Evans Opens up About Experiencing Domestic Violence
We all know that Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans had to kiss a lot of frogs before finally finding her Prince Charming in David Eason — and now the mother-of-three is letting us into some of her darkest relationship moments in her latest book Read Between the Lines: Diary of a Teenage Mom.
You may recall Jenelle dating Gary Head back in 2012, who is now one of her ex-fiancés. The two were arrested back in 2012 together after a violent altercation in their shared condo — which Jenelle recalled in the memoir. At the time, E! News reported that the Marine was charged with “assault on a female, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of another controlled substance,” while Jenelle was hit with “simple assault, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.”

That night, the former couple got into a fight over Gary going to a club without her and surrounding himself with other women — and even found texts that showed he invited some of them back to their place. Jenelle recalled, “He grabbed my phone and threw it against the wall, destroying it and with all my chances of calling my friends or family for help. He started screaming at me and I kept on crying. The next thing I knew, I couldn’t breathe. Gary had attacked me. He jumped from the bed, looped his blanket around my throat and pulled it tight. He kept screaming at me to stop crying while choking me the whole time. Just when I thought I was going to pass out, or even outright die, he finally released me.”
She fought back when she was finally released, though this caused him to keep hitting her and leaving her pretty bruised up — and if that’s not traumatizing enough, Jenelle penned that she also suffered physical abuse at the hands of her ex-husband, Courtland Rogers, after he found her exchanging messages with another man. The TV personality was pregnant at the time — and Courtland questioned the paternity of the baby.
“Courtland slapped me around a few times, then started punching me in the gut,” she recalled.
