A sweet father-daughter moment at Jelly Roll‘s Tuesday night show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has become a hot topic — and not for the reasons the country-rap star likely hoped for.
The “Wild Ones” singer was caught off guard when his daughter, Bailee Ann DeFord, 18, made an appearance at Acrisure Amphitheater and joined him onstage for a live duet. The pair performed “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day, and a TikTok video of the moment was posted June 16, quickly racking up more than 3,000 comments — many of them brutal.
“He sounds terrible,” one TikTok user wrote, garnering more than 14,000 likes. Another commenter put it more bluntly: “I didn’t go and I still want a refund.” One user suggested the performance had the energy of a “Dive bar in small town 1:30am karaoke,” while another wrote, “I feel like Green Day would hate this.”
Perhaps the most cutting take came from a commenter who declared, “This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard.”
Not everyone directed the criticism at Jelly Roll, 41, alone. “This is awful, why didn’t someone stop them? I appreciate Bailee’s confidence but man this is bad … really bad!” one user commented. Another simply quipped, “oh, so I CAN sing.”

One commenter even managed to fold in Jelly Roll’s recent personal news: “Ngl id file for divorce after this too,” a reference to his high-profile split from wife Bunnie Xo. As In Touch previously reported, Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie, 46, in a move that left fans and those close to the couple stunned.
“They may have had ups and downs but make no mistake, Bunnie was Jelly Roll’s rock,” a source told In Touch. “That’s why this is such a head scratcher.”
According to the same source, Jelly Roll (real name: Jason DeFord) has been “telling people how happy he is to be free and single again, that the world’s his oyster.”
But not everyone in his inner circle is convinced the timing was right. “This smacks of an epic midlife crisis waiting to happen,” the source said. “Jelly Roll seems to have jumped the gun here and been far too fast to throw his marriage away.”
