Jared Leto‘s career seems to have been impacted by the recent claims against him.

The Dallas Buyers Club actor, 54, reportedly lost a major role in Barry Levinson‘s upcoming film Assassination in the midst of sexual misconduct allegations arising.

According to sources that spoke to Page Six, he was in advanced talks to join the Rain Man director in 2025. One individual said the actor was reportedly “extremely interested” in being a part of the production and his contribution to the film “seemed like a done deal.”

Levinson and the rest of his team were allegedly aware of the allegations when talks with the actor began. However, production passed on casting the actor as the claims continued to multiply.

Leto has been accused of criminal sexual conduct by four women who took part in the new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. Each of the alleged victims claimed the instances occurred when they were teenagers.

Within the documentary, one woman, “Clara,” alleged she had sex with the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman in his California home when she was 17, making the act illegal considering the state’s legal age of consent is 18.

“It wasn’t a huge concern for him,” she claimed. “He told me, ‘I would like you to call me daddy.’ And it was either pretend to be a little girl or ‘my little girl.'”

The second woman to come forward, “Isabel,” alleged the incident occurred in a motel bathroom at 17 years old.

A third, “Alex,” reported the actor threatened to assault her at 19 years old.

The fourth woman to speak out, “Etta,” claimed the actor groomed her and had repeatedly spoken in a sexually explicit way during phone calls when she was 16. She alleged the actor suggested they have sex on at least one occasion during the calls.

Several other women came forward with allegations, as well as individuals who previously worked with the actor. A few, who wished to remain anonymous, allegedly recalled the singer texting underage girls and inviting many onto the stage during Thirty Seconds to Mars’ concerts.

Leto has spoken out and denied the claims entirely. Within a statement shared to People, the actor said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
