Nearly 50 years after winning over audiences as Frenchy in Grease, Didi Conn is stepping back into one of her most beloved roles.
But the 74-year-old actress, who also appeared on the sitcom Happy Days, ditched her trademark pink ’do for a polished bob in a new beauty campaign inspired by the classic 1978 film.
The ad included a playful nod to the iconic Grease character with a pink wig displayed behind her.
In the original film, Frenchy is serenaded by Frankie Avalon, who sings “Beauty School Dropout” to convince her to return to high school.

This time around, Didi gets a new guardian angel altogether.
“You might remember when I famously dropped out of beauty school. I thought my life and my hair was ruined and I’d have to spend eternity making expensive salon appointments,” Didi said in the ad, partnering with Laura Geller Beauty to promote a root touch-up product.

When a guardian angel and a group of backup singers in silver dresses and curlers appear on a staircase, mirroring the film’s famous scene, Didi calls out, “Oh, not this again.”
“That’s enough. I don’t need you anymore,” she tells them before they can launch into song. She wraps up the ad with a wink to her character’s signature line, “Wait ’til the Ladies hear about this!”

Many fans were delighted to see Conn revisit the role that first won their hearts nearly 50 years ago, and looking just as radiant. “This is genius marketing. Go Didi!” one person commented.
“Iconic!! She’s sooo cute! Y’all nailed this ad, give your marketing team a raise!” another wrote, while others called her “terrific” and said she’d “aged like fine wine.”
Another nostalgic fan chimed in and wrote, “Nope this is going to make me cry. My favorite movie of all time”
