LaMelo Ball is sticking with family tradition when it comes to giving his child a moniker that starts with an L — but fans are not loving his choice!
On Sunday, May 10, ESPN and SportsCenter made a joint Instagram post announcing that the Charlotte Hornets star, 24, and his partner, Ana Montana (real name: Analicia Chaves), had named their first child LaOne.
“LaOne has me dead bro,” a second agreed. “Waiting on LaTwo 😂☠️.”
“Just a bunch of vowels thrown together,” a third noted.
“Bro they need let [sic] go of these names starting with a L😭😭,” a fourth complained, seemingly referring to how LaMelo’s famous father is named LaVar Ball and his brothers are Lonzo and LiAngelo.

The athlete and the model welcomed LaOne into the world in January, and in an exclusive interview with People published Sunday, they reflected on parenthood.
“Welcoming LaOne into the world has changed our hearts in the best way,” the couple told the outlet. “Family has always meant everything to us, but becoming parents has given us an entirely new perspective on love, purpose, legacy and what truly matters most.”
“He has brought so much happiness and meaning into our lives, and we’re incredibly grateful to God for trusting us with such a special blessing,” the pair added. “We’re embracing this new chapter with so much love and excitement as we raise and guide our son together.”
