Tom Brady Teases He’s Thinking of Coming Out of Retirement and Returning to Pro Football

Tom Brady may be teasing a return to professional football after showing he’s still got the moves at a recent competitive game.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion, 48, took the field on Saturday, March 21, at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, which isn’t exactly as competitive as a Super Bowl, but still offered the retired player a chance to flex his quarterback muscles. Brady shared a clip from the game posted by Fox Sports that saw him expertly dodge an oncoming opponent to throw a touchdown pass.

He sparked speculation that he’s considering a return to the NFL by captioning the clip on X, “Gets you thinking…”

According to People, the X post came just days after he appeared on Good Morning America, where he further teased the idea of returning to football in a professional capacity. When asked if he would ever take the field again, he said he “would never say never.” Specifically, he discussed the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. However, he tempered expectations, noting, “It is probably unlikely, just so you know.”

“I think for these young guys, it’s good for them to do it,” Brady said. “If I ever wanted to come in as an advisory role, as a coach, something like that, that’s probably better suited for me.”

He concluded, “I’ll let the young Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen get out there and try to win a gold medal for the U.S.”

According to The Associated Press, Brady’s turn at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic marks the first time he’s played competitively in more than 1,000 days.

Sadly, despite a good performance from the former New England Patriots quarterback, his team ultimately lost the competition.

“My heart is really hurting right now,” Brady admitted.
