Fans are doing a double take after discovering that The Pitt breakout starTaylor Dearden is the daughter of actor Bryan Cranston.
The 33-year-old actress has been earning praise for her role as Dr. Mel King on the hit HBO medical drama, but many viewers didn’t initially make the connection. Once the reveal hit social media, reactions came flooding in.
“Whaaaat? I was today years old when I learned this. And I call myself a Pitt fan 😂” one fan wrote under a Sunday, April 12 Instagram post from Pubity. That comment garnered nearly 7,000 likes.
“THAT’S HIS DAUGHTER!?!? she is so good,” another added.
Others leaned into humor, with one user joking, “Bryan Cranston is also my dad if anyone was wondering.”
The discovery has also reignited the ongoing “nepo baby” debate, with some questioning why she doesn’t use her father’s last name. “Why would she not keep his name?” one commenter asked.
Still, many fans are defending Dearden, pointing to her strong performance on the medical drama as proof she’s earned her place.
“I didn’t see her audition until after Sony and AMC said, ‘We want to hire her,’” the seven-time Emmy winner, 70, insisted in a clip shared by Cafe Mom.
“And I said: ‘You gotta tell me, you better not be doing this because I’m directing it.’”
